Your engagement is powerful. Even within the constraints of incarceration, there are meaningful ways to take action and be heard. Here are some ways you can participate and help push this bill forward:

  • If it feels safe, consider sharing your story. You can write a letter, testimonial, or poem about your experience. We’ll work with you to protect your identity and share your words anonymously if needed. With your consent, your voice may be included in advocacy efforts, campaigns, or even shared with lawmakers to help advance the Bill.

  • Sign or circulate paper petitions or collective letters of support.

  • Participate in educational or support programs related to domestic violence, trauma recovery, or advocacy.

  • Connect with outside advocates who can amplify your voice.

  • Write to lawmakers to share your experience or support for the bill.

If you believe this bill could bring you relief, talk with your defense team about creating a plan for what to do if the bill passes. We’ll be developing more legal resources and guidance as things progress.
